As a parallel activity to UNCTAD 14, the Social Movements Working Group Against UNCTAD is planning a series of activities as follows:
1. On 19 & 20 July there will be public forums at the Tom Mboya Monument in form of a Public Panel discussion on UNCTAD and its influence in the lives of Kenyans and EAC, influence of increasing Public Debt on Kenyan Peasants Farmers and Small Scale Traders and also collect signatures from Kenyans to pressurize Kenya to withdraw from WTO and all FTAs including EPA. There shall also be daily pickets around the UNCTAD venue.
2. On 21 & 22 July there shall be Indoor Forums which will bring together delegates from South Korea, Zimbabwe and Mozambique with the 21 July Forum being a whole Day of Indoor Forum in Nairobi while on 22 July being a half day Forum including a press conference and a March to the venue of UNCTAD.
