The Coalition for Constitution Implementation Kenya – CCI KENYA is perturbed by reports that the Government has Withdrawn Security Guards and Licensed Guns belonging to some opposition leaders and is strongly condemning that move which amounts to politicization of security contrary to the law and the Constitution.

The CCI Kenya is calling on the government to immediately restore Security for the said opposition leaders failure to which the government should be ready to take responsibility of any harm and or loss of life of any of the said leaders. The Late Robert Ouko’s Security guards were allegedly Withdrawn before his murder.

CCI Kenya also state that such moves by government coupled with increasing political hate speech and violence that was witnessed during the just concluded by Elections only serves to polarize the political climate ahead of the 2017 general election.

CCI Kenya is therefore calling for tolerance among the political class, fast racking of land, Electoral, Judicial and police Reforms to ensure free, fair and peaceful Elections in 2017.
