The Katiba Day Working Group (KDWG) in conjunction with the Coalition for Constitution Implementation (CCI) welcomes you to a press conference tomorrow Sunday the 23 August 2015 at the Tom Mboya Monument at 9am to launch Katiba Day 2015 Mobilization Caravan that shall there after head to Kibra slums in Nairobi.
On Monday the 24 August 2015, the Katiba Day 2015 Mobilization Caravan shall be heading to Mathare in Nairobi. Tuesday the 25 August 2015, the Caravan shall head to Mukuru Slums and Wednesday the 26 August 2015, the Caravan shall be in Kangemi slums.
The aim of these mobilization activities shall be to mobilize members of the public to attend the Katiba Day 2015 event that shall be held on Thursday the 27 August 2015 at Freedom Corner, Nairobi to coincide with the fifth anniversary of the promulgation of the Constituion of Kenya on August 2010.
The main aim of Marking the Fifth Anniversary of Katiba Day shall be to highlight the obstacles facing the implementation process from a perspective of Devolution; Bill of Rights (Freedom of Association, Access to Information, Expression); PBO Act; Gender, Youth, Persons with Disability & Marginalized Groups; Leadership and Integrity; Land Reforms; Public Participation; Public Finance (National and county frameworks, Cost – Benefit analysis of Implementation) and Security (military spending, terrorism, community policing/nyumba kumi, existing structures).
